From December 7th-30th, 2017, Seattle's SOIL gallery showcased Tech Support. Curated by Colleen RJC Bratton, this group exhibition presented art objects responding to tech objects. Functioning as a quasi-store, the experimental exhibition tested whether commerce would improve with artworks marketed towards the wealthy tech community in the city. Furthermore, the show opened up a dialogue between the two spheres on ways to support one another through this online platform and through community discussion.
ON DECEMBER 9TH, 2017 FROM NOON-2PM PST, SOIL GALLERY HOSTed A LOW KEY CONVERSATION ABOUT HOW THE ARTS & TECH COMMUNITIES Could BETTER SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER. FACILITATED BY CURATOR COLLEEN RJC BRATTON & MINH NGUYEN, THE CONVERSATION FEATUREd BRIEF ARTIST (DORI SCHERER, FORREST PERRINE, LUKE ARMITSTEAD, Francisco guerrero) & TECHIE TALKS (MIKE PELL of microsoft). FOR THOSE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND, THE EVENT Was & RECORDED & is available for viewing under the "dialogue" tab above.
